I keep thinking of a time
When days were in demand
Now enough of them have passed
It feels they’ll never end.
They keep coming regardless
Challenging us to make use of them all
Blurry minds have lied about the lies and what is real
And we’re stuck in the age of the wheel.

Age is nothing but a number that numbs you
To all forgotten days
Time has been an enemy as long as I remember
Days into weeks into months into fears into
All that makes up a lifetime
Doesn’t amount to as much as you need
Time will keep on kicking us in any way it can
In several different ways we aren’t equipped to understand.

There is a discrepancy between the days I’ve lived
And the days I fully remember.
I could only let you down while thinking of the past
While days keep giving us those countless moments that don’t last
Any hope that they might become useful
Vanished into the impermanence.
Days that make us promises are setting us up
For a fall.
